The 2014 Calgary Boat and Sportsmen’s Show will play host to a number of first time guests and presenters including;   the opportunity to meet Troy Landry from the Swamp People® television series on HISTORY®, on Friday, February 7thonly.   Award winning artist “Chainsaw Jack”, will be sculpting a unique piece right at the Show.   Safari Jeff will be presenting his “Living Wild” edutainment sessions and Derek Hatfield from Canada’s Premiere offshore racing team will entertain audiences with tales of his sailing adventures around the world. The Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation will conduct informational sessions throughout the Show and allow audiences to get up close and personal with some of the Centres inhabitants.

 

The interactive component of the Show is always popular with show goers and includes the Trigger X Kid’s Fishing Pond, where kids under the age of 12 can try out the catch and release program for a $2.00 donation to the Calgary and Sarcee Fish and Game Associations.  The area sponsored by Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association (AHEIA) is another show stopper with fishing, hunting and archery simulators for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.

 

The Presentation Pool/Hunting Stage will be a bevy of activity with presentations by some of Canada’s most well-known outdoorsmen including Award Winning Waterfowl Outfitter, Claudio Ongaro, Outdoor Writer, Brad Fenson as well as the hosts of Outdoor Quest TV, TJ Schwanky and Richard Mellon.  They will be conducting seminars on a variety of topics related to hunting, fishing and the outdoor lifestyle.  Check the website for seminar times and topics.
